Aberavon beach is a stunning 3-kilometre strip of golden sand. This beach is huge and points straight out into the Bristol Channel, picking up any swell going and providing great waves for all levels of ability. It produces good right and left hand waves and luckily the latter of these produces long rides running away from the recently built breakwater. Given how good Aberavon's waves are one can only imagine how great they must have been before the huge breakwater was built at the left end of the beach.

Aberavon may not win any awards for remoteness or solitude but it makes up for this with awesome amusement and leisure facilities and free parking only a stone's throw from the beach. There are loads of things to do locally out of the water, either at the end of the day or during flat spells. On top of this the bright lights of Swansea are just up the coast, providing excellent restaurants, pubs and clubs for after the day at the beach.
