As one of Scotland's most famous towns, Arbroath deserves its high quality beach. This is a huge crescent of reddish sand stretching for over 3 km south from Arbroath town, most of which is exposed at low tide. Because of the sheer size of the beach, you will not struggle to catch your own waves and there is good variety; with the shifting sand bar beach breaks suitable for all levels of surfers and the rocky point at the northern end more appropriate for more experienced surfers.

The beach is well accessed by the main road (A92) immediately behind it and there are free car parks at intervals down its length. If the surf isn't pumping the amusement arcades behind the beach have a huge variety of activities; mini formula one cars, crazy & mini golf, trampolines, tennis, paddling pool, an adventure playground and a miniature railway being just a few. Arbroath is definitely more than just a great beach.
