Balmedie is a beach lovers dream; miles and miles and miles of uninterrupted fine, golden sand beach, backed up by sweeping marram-covered sand dunes with hundreds of unique and individual surf breaks along its length. The shifting peaks produce high quality lefts and rights with surprising power. Given its size, crowds aren't an issue, there's a better than average chance that you won't even see another person. The waves are suitable for all levels of surfers, so get exploring.
The beach is only a short drive off the main A90 and is very easy to get to and find. If you need more than the beach to keep a family entertained or want to find out more about the unique dune ecosystem, check out the visitors centre in the beach car park. This incorporates excellent facilities for the beach, including toilets and picnic tables. This is a stunning beach that generates fantastically varied and challenging surf.
