Broughton Bay is a fantastic, secluded little bay, nestling below the hills and is well worth travelling to tip of the Gower Peninsula. It is capable of producing left-hand barrels from the southern point that deliver peeling waves up onto the half moon beach. This is one of the best point breaks in Wales, but does produce strong rips that can catch the unwary or inexperienced out. It not a very fast wave and is therefore rightly very popular with long boarders. It is also suitable for novices who take care with the rip currents.
Broughton Bay is quite remote with the local holiday park being the only urbanisation around here, which provides all the facilities for the beach. In summary, a classic location with a classic wave.
