Chapel Porth is probably the most secluded beach in the South West and worth the travel to get to, particularly if you are hoping to be surfing alone. Heading down the valley, the beach at first appears tiny but once at sea level you will find a large expanse of sand open up left and right of you, especially at low tide when it links up with Porthtowan beach to the south.
As a surfing beach Chapel Porth's waves are fast and hollow and work best during the lower stages of the tide, creating high quality and demanding rides. This place is amazing and will satisfy the most demanding surfers of any level. This is just as well because unless you are coming for water sports, peace and quiet or the countryside, there isn't much else for you to be doing! Chapel Porth is a fantastic beach for escaping the madding crowds.
