Lossiemouth beach is one of Scotland’s most beautiful surfing beaches; a great expanse of golden-pink sand, backed by low lying sand dunes with a traditional stone fishing harbour at its eastern end. The scenery gives it a feeling of quiet solitude, despite the close proximity of the village. The waves break on various shifting sand banks along the length of this beach, producing good quality spilling waves through the range of the tide, but the best peak is where the swell pushes up against the harbour wall. Here you can get high quality lefts peeling into and along the beach, especially when the swell is from the northeast, providing long rides.
There is really easy driving access with good parking close to the back of the beach and all the facilities you need in the nearby village. Access to the beach is a short walk from the harbour side, over the small river and onto the beach. Lossiemouth is a really picturesque location, quiet and with large sand dunes behind the beach giving it a really secluded feel.
