Newquay - Tolcarne Beach

Newquay's Tolcarne beach is slap bang in the middle of the UK's surfing metropolis and combines great waves with buzzing nightlife. Tolcarne beach is accessed by steep flights of steps down from the cliff at the northerly end and has fantastic facilities sat at the back of the beach, including café and toilets. The beach is the largest and deepest of the Newquay Bay beaches and usually has dry sand even at high tide. However at low tide the beach opens up and connects with each of the other four beaches in the bay, creating one strip of surfing playground several kilometres long.

The surf is high quality and consistent but is not as hollow as Fistral beach making the waves more rideable and an ideal beach for novices and intermediates to practice catching some quality waves and honing their technique.

The beach caters for all levels of surfing ability and there are a plethora of surf schools, manned by some of the high-class surfers that this world-class surfing location has spawned. On top of this is the incredible nightlife; Newquay has a multitude of bars and clubs to explore routinely packed with hundreds of local and visiting beach goers, so if you are after a 24-hour surfing experience look no further than the surfing Mecca of the UK! Another great beach just next to the best nightlife in Cornwall.
