Trevone is a great, secluded location for a quiet day at the beach or in the water, surfing in uncrowded waves. It is a long narrow beach at the head of a valley, which is sheltered on both sides by rolling ridges, which end up as cliffs falling away into the sea. The beach is of fine golden sand with a small river running down the left hand side and has excellent facilities for such a small beach just behind the car park.
The surf is best at low tide when the beach opens up and the narrow headlands are less of a restriction. The swell breaks as spilling waves on shifting peaks through low to mid tide and peel producing decent length rides both left and right. The beach is best in larger swells or when other beaches along this stretch of coast are blown out by storm swell, although novices should take care in heavy conditions as rips can develeop along the headlands. This is a great little beach with a quiet and out of the way atmosphere.
