Mawgan Porth is a fantastic self-contained surfing beach with all the local amenities you could wish for. It is situated at the head of a shallow valley with the beach sitting to the right of a small river. The beach itself produces high quality, walling lefts and rights on various peaks across the range of the tide and the waves can be deceptively powerful. The river mouth also generates high quality lefts, especially in medium sized swells and so Mawgan Porth has something to entertain all levels of surfer.
There is plenty of other stuff to be doing on flatter days and the Merrymoor Inn sits right behind the beach for the post surf social. This is a safe beach enhanced by a dedicated lifeguard presence making it an ideal board rider's playground.
