Mother Iveys Bay

Mother Iveys Bay is a picture perfect beach of fine golden sand, set below high rugged cliffs that wrap around to form headlands at each end of the beach. At high tide a section of these cliffs in the middle of the beach split the beach into two, so although there is access from both sides take care not to get cut off at high tide or you’ll have a longer walk back than you anticipated!

The surfing here is mainly beach break waves across the full tidal range. There is also a peak off the headland at the right hand, eastern end of the beach.

Away from the beach the area is dominated by a large caravan park just inland, which controls access to the eastern end. Access for the general public is a walk around from Harlyn Bay along the coastal path. A beautiful beach that is well worth the walk to get to.
