Pentewan Sands is a stunning beach - sheltered and immaculately kept providing the ultimate adventure sports playground. If you are a serious adventure water sports enthusiast, then this place is for you; there is an Rotyal Yachting Association recognised sailing school and a regulated Scuba Diving School in addition to the perfect environment for board riders and a fantastic strip of sand. What more do you need?! As for the surfing, Pentewan faces east and so requires a big swell to do it justice, but will be offshore in the typically prevailing westerly winds. In the big winter storms this can produce fast hollow beach breaks on days where other local beaches would be blown out. All year round this is a windsurfers and kitesurfers paradise.
Pentewan Sands also has excellent accommodation, right on its doorstep in Pentewan Village. It is reasonably secluded and one of the quieter West Country beaches. Should there be no surf or wind then there are any number of other things to try your hand to. One of the best beaches for adventurers.
