Perranporth beach is ideally located just south of Newquay, Cornwall's excellent surfing metropolis. It is starts at the southern end of a huge strip of sand that stretches north up to Penhale, creating an enormous and idyllic stretch of watery playground! There is a multitude of peaks to surf along the beach, but the best is the left that works off the cliffs at the left side of the beach. The headland acts to reflect the energy of the swell and generates a solid left that can produce good length rides from low to mid tide, which is suitable for all levels of ability.

If you need to keep your stamina up over a long day on the beach, there is The Watering Hole cafe, conveniently located slap bang in the middle of the beach! If you have children in tow there are acres of sand, a small river and an expanse of sand dunes to keep them entertained. Finally once you are finished with the beach at the end of the day, the bright lights of the myriads of restaurants, bars and clubs in Newquay are just up the road.
