Crantock beach is a stunning and truly picturesque surfing beach with great variety of surfing peaks, offering either good lefts at the south side of the beach, various beach breaks in the middle or strong hollow right hand waves at the mouth of the river. The beach can generate really powerful plunging waves, providing great fun for all levels of surfers throughout the full range of the tide.

Crantock is generally a safe beach, enhanced by the presence of lifeguards and has acres of space, which given the limits of the carpark, prevent this beach from becoming too crowded. A quieter and mellower alternative to next-door Newquay's town beaches, there is stacks of sand dunes if you need to keep children out of your hair or for a secluded post surf snooze.

Finally the village has a brace of fantastic traditional pubs for relaxing in after a hard day at the beach!
