Constantine Bay is the beach if you want a remote, rugged and secluded location with demanding surf. It has fantastic golden sand interspersed with dramatic craggy rocks, giving the beach a more wild and remote feel to it. Finding it can be tricky too, once you leave the B3276 have the map to hand, otherwise you may end up doing laps of the same country lane - the signposts aren't obvious. Free parking is limited, although there is an over flow car park with around 300 spaces. The walk down to the beach takes a couple of minutes and once there you will be confronted by a swathe of golden sand, broken up by sand dunes and rocky outcrops.
There are water hazards to be considered here and as such it isn't a beach for novices. At the southern end of the beach there are shallow rocks that in heavy surf channel the moving water into intense rips that will over power even strong unwary swimmers. It is however a really consistent beach and is at a great angle to catch any swell going, so is worth checking if other beaches are flat. There is a reef at the southern end, decent peaks in the middle of the beach and further breaks in the second half of the bay at the northern end of the beach. A fantastic and challenging beach.
