The town of Falmouth is one of Cornwall and England's most popular travel destinations and its three main beaches (together with Falmouth harbour and its fantastic inns and pubs) are in part responsible for this. Falmouth's Castle Beach is one of the three main town beaches, nestling under the imposing silhouette of Falmouth Castle on the headland to the eastern end of the beach. The sand and rock beach produces good beach break waves, and is at its best in big south-westerly swells or if there is an easterly storm system sat in the channel.
It couldn't be more conveniently situated, directly in front of the town so if you have had a late night or are just having an early start, all you have to do is roll out of bed! Any children with you will be entertained with exploring the rock pools that form on the beach, whilst after you have had your fill of the beach there are literally hundreds of things to do in town. So if you want to combine surfing with a stay in a great Cornish town, look no further than Falmouth.
