Guide to creating Blogs and News Items on Surfing Genie

News Items are for businesses to issue press releases onto the web. Please do not put up any content that may be offensive to other users or inflammatory to other businesses. Content should cover a unique or new event or announcement rather than just an advert, as this is what your listing is for. It should also be original copy to avoid plagiarism. You may include two external (to websites) and one internal link (to your listing) on each release (again to prevent spamming). There is no limit to the number of News Items that you can upload but the general guide should be that each is covering a new event or information and is original. Businesses are kindly asked not to use blogs for commercial gain (including advertising, selling or marketing business products or services, either for themselves or for third parties).

Suggestions for subject for News Items:

  • Upcoming developments or events in your business
  • Recent success or event in your business (such as refurbishment, new services or products)
  • New initiatives to existing business (such as special themes for a time of the year)
  • Pricing changes
  • New staff
  • Involvement in local events
  • Noteworthy performances (prizes, awards, national body recognition)
  • Local news or events that would be of interest to the Surfing Genie community
  • Case studies of your recent success that would be of interest to other community members
