Mundesley is a small village further down the same strip of sand as East Runton & Cromer and again works best in the same conditions as these two beaches. The beach is a long strip of clean sand with character created by the wooden groynes that have been built into the beach to prevent erosion. The groynes create sand bars that can generate clean walling waves that peel as left-handers when the conditions are right. It will pick up any swell being pushed down the North Sea from Scotland and works best in medium to large swell conditions.
Mundesley has high grass covered cliffs that protect the beach from any strong southerly winds, with access down to the beach provided by a steep path down. The beach is right on the edge of the village, which being small ensures that the beach never gets particularly busy. It is a quiet location with the hustle and bustle of Cromer just up the road if needed.
