Port Eynon beach is another great swathe of Gower sand sitting directly in front of low lying sand dunes. The beach break here is good for beginners looking for time in the water to develop their technique on un-crowded waves, as they are relatively slow, spilling waves. This beach will provide a large selection of peaks on which to practice, through the range of the tide.
For the more experienced surfers the highlight of Port Eynon is its long peeling right hand point break. It is a shallow breaking wave, consistently producing powerful, steep walling sections as it wraps around the point. Novices should wait before progressing onto this fun and challenging wave. It doesn't matter that there isn't much else to do here because this wave is another Gower classic. If you do need more, then the brightlights of Swansea are just up the road with all its restaurants, pubs and clubs.
