Click here for map | Saligo Bay is a large sweeping expanse of sand in some truly stunning scenery on the western coast of Islay. The beach can be quite wild here as the beach is very open to the prevailing winds and care should be taken when the swell gets heavy as the water currents can be just as strong. This combines with the thick and powerful nature of the waves to make this a beach for intermediates and above, who will enjoy its challenging surfing conditions.
