Three Cliffs bay is Paradise on the Gower! This location is picture perfect and is famed for being so. Due to the limited parking it has neither been exploited nor gets over crowded and the walk down restricts it to active types and not your usual holidaymakers. The location is grand; almost an estuary at the end of a river mouth, with a mixture of pasture, sand dunes and low headlands surrounding the golden beach.
The river and sea combine to create several sand bars, which throw up great waves from mid to high tide. Being south facing the bay catches lots of swell and consistently produces quality waves. Half the fun of surfing here is the walk down to the beach and the view that you get as you drop down into the bay - easily worth the trip.
There aren't any pubs close to this beach, but this is made up for by the fact that Swansea is just up the road with its huge selection of restaurants, pubs and clubs.
