Trebarwith Strand is a really attractive and remote beach with a strip of clean, golden sand nestling below some dramatic cliffs. It is a fantastic surfing beach, suitable for surfers of all abilities and safe at all stages of the tide. The waves are fairly consistent with good rights and a particularly good left up in the lee of the headland. At the lower stages of the tide the beaches opens out creating a huge amount of space in the water for surfers to find their own spot, although the waves are then slightly more exposed to the wind.
It is extremely remote - driving access is suitable for smaller cars only so forget your Hummers and Winabago's, but its well worth the treck to get to. Once there though it's a gem and there is a great pub overlooking the sand below for refreshments after the day at the beach. The scenery is rugged and dramatic, adding to the atmosphere of a fantastic beach.
